A growing number of Parker, Colorado residents, AIHL (American Inline Hockey League) Rocky Mountain Talons elite league players, and CHSIHL (Colorado High School Inline Hockey League) student athletes are signing up to join the NHL's Colorado Avalanche Alumni Players for the first annual Skate for the CURE to raise funds for Children's Hospital Childhood Cancer Research and CEIHF (Colorado Elite Inline Hockey Federation) Youth Athletic Development Programs. The Rocky Mountain Talons athletes will participate with a common goal of speed skating 10 lap (1 mile) and 5K Talons Team Relay at the Parker Fieldhouse inline hockey rink facility in Parker, Colorado to raise funds to benefit Colorado children's cancer research and athletic development causes.
At the CEIHF we are committed not only to the cure for childhood cancer but also the development of youth sports in Colorado, fitness, education and support for the growth of inline hockey in our communities.
Our annual Skate for the CURE event is only one of the CEIHF sponsored programs to raise awareness to the health needs of children in Colorado but, also our responsibility to provide assistance to Colorado communities for education, health and fitness in our schools, while providing athletics opportunities and development through the formative years of a child's life.
Through our development initiatives like the Buddy Up with Hockey, Hockey without Boundaries, and Elite Player and Team Development programs, we are hopeful that we at the CEIHF can make a difference in the lives of our Colorado youth. |
