FUN FOR ALL
The Colorado Elite Inline Hockey Federation (CEIHF) wants to introduce its “Buddy Up with Hockey” a fun fitness program for Denver Metro youth. Our celebrity inline hockey athletes are joined with younger children from elementary and middle schools from around our inner city communities to introduce kids to the benefits of skating for fitness.

FOR BETTER HEALTH
The CEIHF Major League players will visit schools to provide 30-minute demonstrations of exercise on skates. These specifically designed fitness exercises are similar to what the players do within their own fitness and conditioning routines, but adapted and designed for grade school and middle school kids.

FITNESS AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Elementary and middle school children will especially enjoy the one-to-one attention they receive from their older Buddy Up partner.

They make comments such as, "He makes me feel special; he says nice things to me!" and “We do lots of fun things together. He’s my friend."

Teachers report that participation in buddy programs enhances children’s cooperative learning behaviors such as taking turns, listening, sharing knowledge, praising another’s effort, helping one another, and completing a task. Due to the extra attention and assistance, the younger children’s work often improves.

Hockey And What It Can Be

Rocky Mountain Talons Unite To Serve Their Community

Today was a fun day for the students of the Challenge to Excellence Charter School in Parker, Colorado . Over 200 students where introduced to the sport of hockey with a floor hockey demonstration conducted by the Colorado Elite Inline Hockey Federation's (CEIHF) Rocky Mountain Talons Club members.

The thirty-minute camp session consisted of basic drills for puck handling, passing, and strategies. The kids were anxious to try their hand at scoring while learning important lessons in teamwork and sportsmanship. “Never have I seen so many kids with such a strong interest in hockey. It was an awesome experience.” says Eddie Delgado, Founder and Director of the CEIHF.

The Future Looks Good for Hockey

The CEIHF is a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization with programs designed for sports performance training, amateur and elite player development, community service, and health and fitness support for elementary and middle school children. Last year they were successful with the Hockey without Boundaries program were they introduced hockey to over 80 inner-city and at-risk kids from the Denver Metro area.

Their hard work has cultivated a close relationship with the Colorado Avalanche and their “Let's Play Hockey” program which donated sticks, balls, protective equipment, nets and balls for distribution through the CEIHF Hockey without Boundaries and Buddy Up with Hockey programs.

This appears to be only the beginning for the CEIHF as they continue their hard work to bring hockey to more communities throughout the Colorado Front Range. “This is great opportunity for the hockey community to help spread the word and support these kids' programs. The look of joy and excitement on these kid's faces when they first pick up a hockey stick is priceless.” says Mike Magera, CEIHF Coach, and Program Director.

The organization's next milestone is to reach out and visit additional schools and youth organizations with summer camps, fitness classes and equipment in support of fitness and health through floor hockey lessons and exhibitions.
